How it works

Four steps. Clearance is step three — and it’s your choice.

A straightforward process. At step three you decide: Goldcoast clears your consolidated shipment, or your own agent clears your container at its destination port.

1

Tell us what you’re shipping

Use the quote builder below: where it’s coming from, what it is, size and weight, how clearance should be handled, and your pickup destination anywhere in Africa.

2

We ship it by ocean

Your goods are booked and loaded for ocean freight to your African destination. Keep your shipment reference — you’ll need it at pickup.

3

Clearance — your choice

Consolidated shipment booked with us? Goldcoast can clear it for you on arrival. Your own full container? You clear it at your port of destination, usually with your own agent.

4

You collect it

If we cleared your goods, we let you know when they’re ready. Collect at your destination — in Ghana, from our Kasoa or Tema warehouse — with photo ID and your reference.

Pickup locations — across Africa

Collect at your destination — anywhere in Africa.

Pickup is available at any African destination, not only in Ghana. Consolidated shipments cleared by Goldcoast are collected from the pickup point at your destination — tell us the country and city when you request your quote. In Ghana, collect from our own warehouses in Kasoa or Tema, below.

What you can ship

Personal, household & commercial — by sea.

If it can go in a box, barrel or container, ask us. Tell us the items in your quote request so we can confirm the best way to ship them and flag anything that needs special handling or cannot be shipped.

Enter your shipment details — the builder works out your volume in cubic metres (CBM) and prepares a clean summary you can copy or download and share with Goldcoast to get your price. Clearance is optional: tell us if Goldcoast should clear your consolidated shipment, or if you’ll clear your own container at destination with your own agent.

Price depends on route, volume, weight and type of goods, so Goldcoast will confirm your exact price from this summary. No price is shown here — that keeps it honest.

Questions

Clearance, pickup & pricing — answered.

Do I need my own clearing agent?

It depends on how you ship. For consolidated shipments — many customers’ goods in a container booked by Goldcoast — we normally handle the clearance ourselves, and your goods are moved to the pickup warehouse for you. If you ship your own full container, you handle customs clearance at your port of destination; most clients use their own agent, especially for vehicles.

What is a consolidated shipment?

It’s when many customers’ items travel together in one container booked by Goldcoast. Because we booked the container, we can clear the whole shipment on arrival and hold your goods at the pickup point at your destination — in Ghana, our Kasoa or Tema warehouse. A full container you book yourself is different — you clear that one at your own port of destination.

Where do I collect my goods?

At your destination — pickup is available across Africa, not only in Ghana. Consolidated shipments cleared by Goldcoast are collected from the pickup point at your destination; in Ghana, that’s our warehouse in Kasoa or Tema, which you choose at booking. For other African destinations, tell us the country and city in your quote request and we’ll confirm the pickup point. Please wait until we confirm your shipment is cleared and ready, then bring photo ID and your shipment reference. Full-container customers collect after clearing their container at their destination port.

How is my price worked out?

Ocean freight pricing depends on the origin, the size/volume (CBM), weight and type of goods. Use the quote builder above to prepare your details — Goldcoast will confirm your exact price from that summary. We don’t publish fixed prices here because every shipment is different.

How long does ocean freight take?

Sailing times vary by origin port and route, so we confirm an estimated timeline when we quote your specific shipment. If timing is urgent, mention it in your quote request notes.

Can I ship a full container or just a few boxes?

Both. Full containers suit larger loads; shared (consolidated) containers suit boxes, barrels and smaller shipments. Note the clearance difference: with a shared container booked by Goldcoast, we can clear it for you; with your own full container, you handle clearance at your destination port. Tell us what you have and we’ll advise the better option.
